Piping Systems Manual Mar 15, 2010
By Richard Beale I am a piping designer with 35 years of plant layout and piping design and supervision experience. I have found that there are many books on piping design covering the basic components and layout requirements thru to the highly technical on subjects such as fluid flow and stress analysis, all of which have their place and many of which I possess in my own personal library. This one bridges the gap. The author explains in an entertaining writing style the practicalities of piping design. Where basic piping layout books leave off Mr. Silowash picks up with explanations and insight into the real life challenges of piping design. The book also provides instruction in piping design topics such as piping general arrangements, pipe supporting, and technical explanations of the formulae used in the B31 codes that are easily followed by any technical school graduate. It provides the designer working on piping layouts insight into the more technical aspects of design and is an excellent starting point for the mechanical engineer who aspires to the world of piping engineering. All-in-all a very informative and a must-have book for anyone wishing to grow their knowledge of piping design.

Piping Systems Manual Nov 16, 2009
By Rupert Brice

I found this book very useful. I am QC Manager/CWI with a welding background and i found its' down to earth approach and many references very helpful. It contains a wealth of reference information ready to hand and i found the practical useful tips etc very useful. We all learn by our mistakes (hopefully!) and Mr Silowash helps us avoid several. All in all i am glad i bought this book.

Good piping book for senior and junior Mar 27, 2011
By Firdaus This book is very informative. The fact that this book is not a handbook doesn't mean it can be consider trivial. This book really cover some important topic that every piping-related personnel should know. I do like the way the writer way of describing things. It's so warm, feels like speaking to a very friendly senior fellow. Finally, this book is good both for junior and senior.

Field Experience Counts! Nov 17, 2009
By Joseph B. Kaar
"J. B. Kaar, PE"
Written by an experienced design and field engineer.
This book covers covers the basics of process piping well and in enough detail that the user will understand the "why's" of whats being done rather than feeling he/she is trusting a "cookbook". The chapters are well organzed and concise.
More important, the author overlays the basics with his field experience. This window into the real world is invaluable in understanding the ramifications of the decisions made in the design process. The comments on the overall project economics are also most valuable and can only be learned from experience.

Piping Systems Manual Dec 06, 2009
By L. A. Koslasky The author has compiled a top notch piping manual filled with relevant technical piping data located in a one-stop reference manual. His insightful on-the-job experiences at the beginning of each chapter add a personal touch to the technical data. A reference manual for both the piping designer and engineer. Great job!
